Answer: Believing in God does not mean seeking Him only in difficult times, “give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Human beings cannot distinguish between good and evil. In the accounts of people who escaped the attack on the World Trade Center in 2001, there are reasons why they were late for being at the scene at the time of the tragedy: a father whose daughter spilled coffee on his jacket; one whose alarm clock did not go off; another who crashed her car. Belief is resting in God and doing His will, because He knows all things and always does what is best for us, even when we think He is not.
